Get membership support
Online account setup: Online member purchases require an account. If you’re a current member but your online account has not been set up, please create a new account or email membership@royalbcmuseum.bc.ca for assistance.
Visiting the museum: Royal BC Museum members and Combo members do not need to purchase tickets. Simply scan your membership card at the bottom of the escalator when you head upstairs.
Purchasing IMAX® Victoria tickets: Royal BC Museum members and Combo members must purchase tickets online or at the box office and present their membership card upon purchase and entry. Sign in to access your IMAX® discounts.
Forgot your membership card? No problem, just stop by the box office with a piece of photo ID for admission. Lost or stolen cards can be replaced at our box office for a $5 fee.
Redeeming membership discounts:
- Royal Museum Shop: Present your membership card at the time of purchase.
- Shop at IMAX® Victoria: Present your Combo Membership card at the time of purchase.
- Partner organizations: To enjoy partner discounts, show your Combo card and valid photo ID at the time of purchase. See full reciprocal partner list.
Purchasing guest admission or IMAX® tickets: If purchasing in-person, show your membership at the time of purchase to receive a discount. If purchasing online, sign in to your online account to redeem your discount.
Gift a membership: You can purchase a gift membership voucher online or in-person. If purchased online, their membership card will be ready for pick up during the recipient’s next visit.
Upgrade your admission ticket to a membership: Bring your museum admission ticket to our box office on the same day of your visit, and we will deduct the ticket price from the cost of a membership. One ticket can be applied per membership purchased.
Upgrade to a Combo membership: If you have a current Royal BC Museum membership and/or an IMAX® Victoria membership and want to upgrade to a Combo membership, please visit our box office. Upgrades cannot be processed online.
Royal BC Museum members
- Memberships can be purchased and renewed online or in-person at our box office.
- Memberships are valid for one year from the date of purchase. Memberships expire on the last day of the expiry month.
- Members are non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Lost or stolen cards can be replaced at our box office for a $5 fee.
- If purchased online, membership cards will be available at the box office during your next visit. Combo members will have their photo taken and included on their card.

Combo members
Present your Combo Membership at the box office to obtain your IMAX® ticket. If purchasing online, sign in to your online account to book your tickets. Upon entry to the theatre, please show your Combo Membership card and ticket to the usher.
Passes are valid for 45-minute IMAX® films only; special events are not included. Additional upgrade fees apply for feature-length Hollywood films.
Combo Memberships are valid for 12 months from the date of activation. Combo Memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable. A $5 replacement fee will apply for any lost or stolen cards. Combo Memberships cannot be used at other IMAX® locations.
Combo Membership cards are issued by and remain the property of the Royal BC Museum and IMAX® Victoria. Use of this Combo Membership constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions. Prices, terms, and conditions may change without notice.
