Generations of British Columbia residents and visitors can recall moments of wonder at the Royal BC Museum. And each of those memories is owed, in part, to the many people who support the museum and its work.

Why give?

Every dollar donated is reinvested in preserving, understanding, and sharing the stories that make up BC. This touchstone of the Victoria and BC experience also adds to our local economy, providing over 200 jobs for personnel, researchers, and educators.  

Your donation does more than keep our doors open. It keeps knowledge alive and passes it on to future generations. All donations are eligible for a tax receipt. If you prefer not to donate online, mail and phone options are available, as well as support for legacy gifts.

Donations have enabled rejuvenation and growth in the many ways that the museum serves the public.

Contributions have allowed us to: 

  • Advance repatriation, reconciliation work, and respectful representation of Indigenous cultures.
  • Produce new world-class exhibitions and update our permanent galleries 
  • Bring the museum into communities across the province with travelling exhibitions, online presentations, and educational programming for all ages 
  • Maintain the museum as a signature destination and its collection as an invaluable cultural treasure 
  • Support invaluable research both at the museum and in partnership with institutions around the world
