Tracey Drake
Chief Executive Officer
Tracey Drake was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Royal BC Museum in February 2024, following six effective months in the acting CEO role. Tracey oversees museum operations, BC Archives, and IMAX, as well as the critical work of reconciliation, repatriation, DRIPA implementation, and PARC Campus, the provincial archives, collections, and research building capital project in Colwood.
Passionate about the importance of the organization’s mandate to truly represent diverse communities and become a progressive museum for all British Columbians, Drake is also charged with stewarding the reimagining of the museum. With a collaborative leadership approach to realizing transformative change and organizational stability, Tracey’s knowledge and experience is instrumental in advancing the museum’s strategic direction.
An experienced and multidisciplinary senior executive, Tracey joined the museum in 2021 as Head of Marketing, Communications and Business Development and was promoted to Vice President of Strategic Operations in 2022. Prior to joining the Royal BC Museum, Tracey’s career in executive leadership and strategic management consulting spanned more than two decades, working with organizations across the tourism, cultural, and non-profit sectors. Deeply committed to community, Tracey has served on numerous boards, and was recognized nationally for her significant fundraising efforts.
Tracey holds an MBA from the University of Leicester, Executive Strategic Leadership and Change Management education from Cornell University, and a Bachelor of Hospitality and Tourism Management from Algonquin College.

Elizabeth Vickery
Vice President, Strategic Operations
Liz joined the Royal BC Museum as Vice President, Strategic Operations in August 2023. She currently oversees Exhibitions, Marketing and Communications, People and Development, Learning, and Corporate Sponsorship.
Liz has over 25 years of experience in both the public and private sector in a variety of portfolios including statistics and economics, Olympic games delivery, cancer screening advocacy, pandemic supports for the business community across the province, human resources, and most recently in tourism. She is passionate about strategic and business planning; evidence based and results focused operations which demonstrate tangible improvements over time; excellent long term relationships with a wide variety of essential partners; and valuing people.
Liz hold a Masters Degree in Data Science from Johns Hopkins University as well as a Masters Degree in Human Resources from Harvard Business School.

Jodi Giesbrecht
Vice President of Archives, Collections and Research
Dr. Jodi Giesbrecht joined the Royal BC Museum as Vice President of Archives, Collections and Research who oversees the research, curatorial, and collections management functions of the RBCM, in addition to the BC Archives.
Previously, Jodi was Director of Research and Head Curator at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she oversaw research and curatorial development of the CMHR’s core galleries and temporary exhibitions, as well as collections management and stewardship.
Jodi holds a PhD and MA in history from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Winnipeg.
